Dentures, sets of fake teeth, are worn by many of our patients. And while false teeth are an awesome option if you are missing your natural chompers, a number of our patients have let us know that they’re unhappy they let their pearly whites get to the point of needing false teeth. If you have any missing pearly whites, complete or partial dentures may be right for you, and we’d be thrilled to arrange a consultation for you. If you still have all of your natural pearly whites, please think about the following advice.
There are many reasons why people lose teeth and need to get false teeth: poor dental hygiene, infrequent dental visits, physical accidents, acid reflux, high blood pressure, advanced age and more. The greatest way to avoid needing false teeth is to practice a healthy dental hygiene routine.
Keeping a solid hygiene routine means brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste two times a day, flossing once a day and visiting our office for cleanings and checkups often. To hamper your risk of developing gum disease and decaying teeth, avoid tobacco, limit alcohol consumption and monitor intake of sugary foods and drinks.
We want all of our patients to enjoy their natural teeth for life. If for any reason you do need to get false teeth, don’t fret: they can be attractive and powerful substitutes for natural pearly whites.
